Emma Winkelmann

Emma Herrmann Winkelmann, 91, of Brenham, died July 7, 2005, in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Mrs. Winkelmann was born Sept. 19, 1913, in Washington County, Texas, to Robert and Emma Loesch Herrmann. She was baptized Sept. 19, 1913, at her home by Pastor F. Apfelbach and was confirmed April 28, 1929, by Pastor Paul Gogolin. Mrs. Winkelmann attended Washington County schools. On Nov. 15, 1938, she was married to Alfred Gus Winkelmann in St. John Lutheran Church in Prairie Hill by Pastor Gogolin. Mrs. Winkelmann was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Prairie Hill and was a homemaker. Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Carlos and Pat Winkelmann of Brazoria and Allan Ray Winkelmann of Brenham; daughter, Gaynell Royder of Austin; grandchildren, Lance Russel Royder, Jody Renee Royder, Todd Winkelmann and Tanya Winkelmann; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Alfred and Gladys Krammer of New Braunfels; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred Winkelmann; son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Betty Winkelmann; and son-in-law, Bill Royder. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 11 in St. John Lutheran Church in Prairie Hill with Rev. Dr. Sue Beall officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 10. Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church in Prairie Hill. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
