Erma Luetge

Erma Prigge Luetge, 91, joyously went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 10, 2023.  Erma was born on July 30, 1931 to Charlie and Theophilia Alaminski Green of the Burton community and raised in the Longpoint area.  She was baptized in infancy at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Burton.  On March 25, 1945, Erma was confirmed by Rev. J. Fred Mgebroff at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville.

On January 6, 1952, she married LeRoy Prigge at Zion Lutheran Church.  They made their home in Brenham and were active in their church and community.  LeRoy preceded her in death on March 14, 1997 after 45 years of marriage.

Erma was married to Dennis Luetge on February 14, 2000 by Rev. Jon Siemsglusz at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville.  He preceded her in death on April 16, 2003.

Throughout her life, Erma was active in her community and church.  She served as an election official and volunteered many for years with the Washington County Fair.  She loved her Lord, taught Sunday School for years, served as chairman of the church council, and was a member of the ELCA, serving on several committees.   In the last year of her life, she taught a Bible study at her skilled care residence.

Erma retired from Brookshire Brothers after working there for many years.  She enjoyed working with all of her co-workers whom she loved.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and son-in-law Mack Machacek.  She is survived by her daughter, Karen Machacek, step-children Robert & Glynell Luetge,  Bonnie & Elroy Wellman, sister-in-law Evelyn and husband, David Buck, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers are David Majewski, Charles Majewski, Doug Brown, Heath Byrd, Rick Seilheimer, Kenton Prigge and Mark Buck.

Visitation is 5pm-7pm Friday, May 12 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.  The funeral service is 2pm Saturday, May 13 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville.  Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
