Erna Boenker

Erna Eickenhorst Boenker, 87, of Brenham, died Jan. 2, 2005, in Conroe. Mrs. Boenker was born Feb. 3, 1917, in Anderson, Grimes County, TX, to Will and Minnie Becker Eickenhorst. She was baptized and confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church in Anderson. Mrs. Boenker was educated in Anderson. On Dec. 15, 1938, she married Edwin F. Boenker in Zion Lutheran Church in Anderson. Mrs. Boenker was a seamstress for Tic Toc Infant Wear. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham. Survivors include her sister, Adline Boenker of William Penn; and nieces and nephews, Shirley Hintz, Arby and Marie Wager, Wilbert and JoAnn Eickenhorst, Morris and Linda Eickenhorst, Marion and Mauline Eickenhorst, Burney and Irene Eickenhorst, Otis & Anita Eickenhorst; Betty Lou Carroll, Russell and Lisa Lohmann, Wilma Nell Robnett, Clarence Finke and David Buggar Red and Pat Boenker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin F. Boenker, on Nov. 15, 1996; her son, Wesley Glen Boenker; her sister, Clara Finke; three half brothers; and three half sisters. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5 in Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastor Matthew Jacobs and Pastor William Holzer officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. The family will receive visitors at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4. Memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
