Erna Malinda Flentge Emshoff, 86, of Brenham, TX, died July 30, 2003, in Bluebonnet Hills Care Center in Brenham. Mrs. Emshoff was born Aug. 7, 1916, in Klump community of Washington County, TX, to Gus and Lydia Meyer Flentge. She was baptized Oct. 29, 1916, in Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Greenvine by Pastor L. Horfer and was confirmed Sept. 4, 1932, in Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church in Berlin by Pastor Wm. Utesch. Mrs. Emshoff was educated in the Klump School. On Nov. 15, 1936, she was married to Edwin J. Emshoff in St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham by Pastor Arthur Hartmann. For many years Mrs. Emshoff was a homemaker. She then became employed for and retired from Blinn College after 21 years. She was a member of Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church in Berlin, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Erwin and Allyne Emshoff of Brenham; daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Gene Fontaine of Baytown; four grandchildren, Keith and Kay Emshoff of Tomball, Kweyn and Randi Emshoff of Brenham, Keith and Cristy O Neill of Crosby and Brian Todd and Staci Guidry of Baytown; 9 great-granddaughters, Lindsay, Breann and Katelyn Emshoff, Sarah and Michala Emshoff, Laici, Hannah and Stormi O Neill and Savannah Guidry; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Emshoff and Isabel Emshoff, both of Brenham, and Ruby Emshoff of Houston; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Lydia Flentge; husband, Edwin J. Emshoff, on April 11, 1985; brothers-in-law, Arnold, Bill, Leroy and Herbert Emshoff, Willie Draehn and Willie Rosenbaum; and sisters-in-law, Selma Draehn, Norma Rosenbaum and Alma Emshoff. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1 in Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church in Berlin with Pastor Teresa Davis officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. The family will receive visitors at Memorial Oaks Chapel Thursday, July 31 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Draehn, Allan Draehn, Ricky Emshoff, Wilfred Emshoff, Delano Klausmeyer and Maxwell Weidner. Her grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church in Berlin. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
