A Memorial Service for Erna Mae Graham, 87, who passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 in Lafayette, Louisiana, is scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Pastor Jill Vivroux officiating. Visitation will be at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 12 noon until service time at 1 p.m. Saturday. Survivors include her daughter, Faye deSola and husband Steve of Spring, son, Glenn and wife Joelien Geick of Bellville; grandchildren: Ryan and Jeanne Geick, Jason and Nichole Geick, and Alan Geick; Tony and Joel deSola; great-grandchildren: Savannah, Trinity, and Aspen Geick, Kainoa deSola and Dylan Stafford. She was preceded in death by parents, Willie and Martha Deiss Gummelt; husband, George Weldon Graham; brothers Willie Gummelt, Norris Gummelt; sisters Ivey Smith, Sophie Brauner, Elsie Neumann, and Myrtle Sherman. Mrs. Graham was born in Brenham, Texas and resident of Scott, Louisiana for thirty years. Erna Mae exercised her green thumb with all of her beautiful plants and yard. She was a highly skilled seamstress and artist. She was a world traveler and enjoyed bass fishing. "Mae" was known for her famous chicken fried steak that her family loved. Erna Mae Graham was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed.
