Ernest Ray Witte, 89, of Brenham, died July 10, 2020, at his residence.
Per family request, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Witte was born Oct. 20, 1930, in Lyons, TX, to Herman Sr. and Ida (Oppermann) Witte.
On Oct. 26, 1963, he was married to Gloria Jean Kenjura. Mr. Witte was a retired security guard at Texas Fibers and was a member of Brenham Cowboy Church. He was an avid horse lover and rode the Salt Grass Trail for 42 years. His grandsons were the love of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Jean Witte of Brenham; daughter and son-in-law, Claudia and Ronnie Walla of Brenham; grandchildren, Colten Walla and fiancée Tiffany Kroll and Dalton Walla and special friend Landon Mendez; sisters, M.C. Knesek of Houston and Lila Mae Kirk of Mexia; brother-in-law, Melvin Dahse of Brenham; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Witte was preceded in death by his parents and numerous brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
