Funeral services for Ervin Addicks, 85, of Brenham, husband of Dovie Mae Rodenbeck Addicks, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Salem Lutheran Church of Salem, with Pastor Charles Parnell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Friday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Mr. Addicks passed away November 6, 2013. Ervin Addicks was born March 24, 1928 in Washington County to Albert and Ella Wellbrock Addicks. He was baptized April 23, 1928 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill, and confirmed there March 29, 1942. After serving his country in the Texas National Guard, he married Dovie Mae Rodenbeck at Salem Lutheran Church on July 21, 1951. He was employed in the retail grocery business. Survivors include his wife, Dovie Mae Addicks; son and daughter-in-law Nathan and Cheri Addicks of Hawaii; daughter, Glynda Addicks of Sugar Land; brothers and sisters-in-law Lonnie and Dorothy Addicks, Albert Jr. and Effie Addicks, and Floyd Addicks, all of Brenham. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister-in-law, Suzanne Addicks. Serving as pallbearers are Donald Wendler, Kenney Wellbrock, Delbert Boeker, Dave Addicks, Delphine Addicks, and Wade Wellmann. Honorary pallbearers are Victor and Dot Arlitt and Jerome and Shirley Friesenhahn, and his nieces, nephews, and members of his coffee group. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Brazos Valley, Salem Lutheran Church, or to the Brenham Heritage Museum. Funeral arrangements for Ervin Addicks are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W.
