Erwin Zibilski

Erwin Otto Zibilski, 86, of Brenham, died Thursday, February 20, 2003 in a Bryan nursing home.

He was the last of seven children born to Carl and Anna Helm Zibilski on July 21, 1916 in Burton, Texas. Erwin was baptized October 16 , 1916, and later confirmed in St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton where he remained a lifelong member. On November 5, 1936 he married Olivia Mary Fischer in St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton by Pastor Edwin Eiben.

Erwin worked for Central Freight Lines in Brenham from 1946 until 1962. He was a truck driver and later managed the Brenham branch. He also worked for Brown & Root Construction when the new airport was being built in Houston, Texas.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Rosalie Zibilski of Springfield, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Olivia Zibilski on March 4, 2001; his parents; three sisters and three brothers.

The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 23, in Memorial Oaks Chapel with the Rev. Virgil Pecht officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's United Church of Christ Cemetery in Burton, Texas. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials may be given to the charity of choice.
