Esther Hermann, 87, of Brenham, widow of Edward Hermann, passed away September 7, 2008 in Brenham Rest Home. Esther was born in Washington County on April 16, 1921 to Fritz Schroeder and Martha Neumann Schroeder. She was educated in the Kuykendall School, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn. Survivors include a son, Walter Schroeder of Austin; a daughter, Christene Schroeder of Brenham; sisters-in-law Hattie Dallmeyer and Annie Malkey; brother Wilfred Schroeder of Brenham; brother-in-law John Hermann; sisters Amanda Denton of Freeport and Hildegard Lucas of Brenham. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, as well as great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Esther Hermann will be held Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Pastor Jeffrey King officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are Dan Dallmeyer, Troy Dallmeyer, David Dallmeyer, Ben Hermann, Edwin Hoefelmeyer, Sr. and Edwin Hoefelmeyer, Jr. Honorary pallbearer is Mike Stegent. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
