Esther Nienstedt

Esther M. Nienstedt, 84, of Burton, passed away June 1, 2018 in Bryan, Texas.

Visitation with the family will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg with Pastor Denise Seymour officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Esther was born to Toney Mantey and Adeline Lange Mantey in Washington County on December 14, 1933. She married the love of her life, Waldo Nienstedt, on December 19, 1954. Esther was an amazing and hardworking homemaker.

Esther enjoyed fishing, baking, as well as tending to her beautiful garden. Esther also enjoyed the thrill of gambling. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family, but she really enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved to watch baseball and rodeos on tv.

Esther is survived by her husband, Waldo Nienstedt, son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Sharon Nienstedt, daughter and son-in-law, Waldine and Allen Wickel, brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Ida Jean Mantey, sister-in-law, Dorothy Mantey, Sister, Mary Schulz, grandchildren, Branden Wickel, Clayton and Rebekah Wickel, Bradley and Vanessa Nienstedt, Ryan and Katie Nienstedt, Cody and Kylie Nienstedt, and Kasey Wickel, great-grandchildren, Brenna Wickel, Karsen Wickel, Hailey Wickel, Cameron Wickel, Brooke Nienstedt, Kinslee Nienstedt, and Easton Nienstedt, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Toney and Adeline Mantey, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Malinda Nienstedt, brothers, Clarence Mantey and Edwin Mantey, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Bernice and Raymond Steinbach, Robert Jr. and Estella Nienstedt, Lonnie Schulz, Delia Mantey, nephew and niece, Rickey Sr. and Connie Mantey, great nephew, Robert (shorty) Nienstedt.

Pallbearers: Branden Wickel, Clayton Wickel, Bradley Nienstedt, Ryan Nienstedt, Cody Nienstedt, Jeffrey Schulz, Bobby (J.J.) Nienstedt, and Karsen Wickel.

Honorary pallbearers: Connie Sebesta, Karen Roeske, granddaughters, great granddaughters, and great grandson.

Memorial Contributions may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg or Hospice Brazos Valley.
