Funeral services for Esther Henze Carter Patrick, 82, of Brenham, are at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at Grace Lutheran Church, 1212 W. Jefferson St. in Brenham. She was born Dec. 21, 1924, in Coupland, and passed away Nov. 28, 2007, in Brenham. Mrs. Patrick spent her entire adult life in Brenham where she was a long-time member of Grace Lutheran Church. Spending time with her family and cooking for her family were her greatest loves. She also enjoyed gardening, embroidery, watching the Houston Astros, and taking frequent trips to Wal-Mart. She also loved babysitting and being a housewife. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St. in Brenham. Burial will follow the service on Saturday in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, H.M. Carter Jr.; husband, Frank Patrick; daughter, Delores Kelley; infant daughter, Marilyn Esther Carter; sister, Elfreda Tootsie Patrick; and brother, Herman Henze. She is survived by daughters, Brenda Grimmett and husband Rod of Nacogdoches, and Wanda Carter Kramer and special friend Larry Blackwell of Brenham; brother, Leroy Pete Henze of Brenham; grandchildren, Kevin Kelley and wife Julia of St. Louis, Mo., Shannon Hartman and husband Lee of Sugar Land, Ryan Grimmett and wife Amanda of Nacogdoches, Randall Grimmett of Nacogdoches, Leslie Kramer of Austin, Tracie Kramer of Brenham, and Michael Kramer of Brenham; great-grandchildren, Drew and Kate Hartman of Sugar Land, and Carter and Claire Kelley of St. Louis, Mo.; son-in-law, Walter Kelley and wife Diana of Richmond; brother-in-law, B.C. Carter and wife NormaDene of Beaukiss; and numerous nieces and nephews. Everyone who knew Nanny was drawn to her, as she had a great outlook on life, and she brought cheer to every room she entered. She will be missed dearly.
