Esther Schroeder, 93, of Brenham, widow of Herbert Schroeder, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 24, 2008 in Brenham Rest Home. Mrs. Schroeder was born in the William Penn Community on March 13, 1915 to Henry Sr. and Minnie Loesch Wehring. She was baptized and confirmed in Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn. Mrs. Schroeder was educated in William Penn schools. On December 6, 1941, she married Herbert Schroeder in the home of her parents. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1971. She was employed for many years as a seamstress for Tic Toc Infant Wear. Mrs. Schroeder was a member St. John''s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill, the Ladies Aid, and also sang in the church choir. She loved to sew, play piano and sing, and she loved her grandchildren. A great enjoyment was to spend time outdoors. She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Seale of Brenham, and Janie Bowler and husband Ralph of Waco; two grandchildren, Timothy Seale and wife Carrie, and Jonathan Seale and wife Kristen; great-granddaughter, Abby Seale; a sister, Laura Schwake and sister-in-law, Edna Weiss. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Schroeder; a son-in-law, Archie Seale; an infant granddaughter, Tracy Lynn Seale; four brothers: Henry Wehring, Jr., Willie Wehring, Oscar Wehring, and Reinhardt Wehring; four sisters: Ella Wehmeyer, Emma Schultz, Minnie Ellermann, and Annie Hemann. Funeral services for Esther Schroeder will be held Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John''s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill, with Pastor David Hansen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at Memorial Oaks Chapel Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers are Tim Seale, Jon Seale, Kenneth Weiss, Charles Bugaj, Jerry Schwake, Tom Pitts, Joel Hutson, and Wendell Brown. Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
