Eugene "Gene" Julian Cegielski, 84 of Chappell Hill, died December 14, 2024, in Friendswood, Texas. Survivors include his son, Alan Cegielski and wife, Tricia of Weimar, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Chris Santiff, of Houston; grandchildren, Shawn Santiff, Shannon Crawley, Shane Santiff, Shanber Gobert, Cayla Cegielski, Logan Cegielski, and James Thomas; great-grandchildren, Brittany and Chase Crawley, Vincent Santiff, Jacob Thomas, Brooklynn and Brian Jr. Gobert; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. Preceding Gene in death were his parents, Edmund Cegielski and Nellie; wife, Jamie Cegielski; brother, Marion "Sonny" Cegielski; sister, Lillian Cegielski Harper and husband, Bob; son, Paul Thomas; sister-in-law, Golda Wortham; brother-in-law, John Oliver and sister-in-law, Bobbie Long.
Born December 8, 1940 in Chappell Hill, Texas to Edmund "Eddie" and Angeline "Nellie" Cegielski, Gene was a beloved husband to Jamie for almost 45 years. He worked for Cameron Iron Works for 42 years where he received numerous awards and patents and after retiring, enjoyed consulting for them for several years. He was an amazing husband, dad, grandpa and great grandpa. Gene loved living in Aberdeen, Scotland with Jamie, traveling all over the United Kingdom, which included playing many of the beautiful and historic golf courses. Business travels with Jamie included places such as Singapore, London and Canada. He also enjoyed visiting other places like Hawaii and Acapulco. Some of his favorite hobbies were golf, woodworking and gardening. He especially loved sharing all the harvest with family and friends. Gene enjoyed spending time with family, kids and grandkids, especially at his farm in Chappell Hill. WE LOVE YOU GENE!!! We want to give a very special thank you to all the caregivers who loved and cared for him over the past 9 years where he lived. Also, we are extremely grateful for the personal attention and care given to Gene by the caregivers who spent long nights with him in the hospital. Words cannot describe how much we appreciate each of you. He was very blessed to have you take care of him.
Visitation and Rosary, December 26, 2024, 5:00 pm-7:00pm (Rosary at 6:30pm) at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham, Texas, Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2024 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Chappell Hill, Texas with Father Thaddeus Taback officiating. Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Chappell Hill. Serving as pallbearers are Kevin Cegielski, Gary Cegielski, Craig Cegielski, Logan Cegielski, Chris Santiff, and Shawn Santiff. Honorary pallbearers are Shane Santiff and Hugo Martinez. Memorials may be directed to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 9175 FM 1371,Chappell Hill, Texas 77426.
