Eula Adele Derrick Kieke Moody, 91, of Brenham, passed away on September 13, 2010. Eula Adele was born October 8, 1918, in Burton, Texas to C. F. and Ruby Huebner Derrick. She was baptized at Bauer s Falls in Burton. She married Kirvin Kieke on September 2, 1936. He preceded her in death on August 28, 1980. She married R. P. Moody on September 25, 1982. He preceded her in death on August 11, 1986. Eula Adele worked at Kenjura s Pharmacy until her retirement. She was also a homemaker and attended First Christian Church in Burton and in later years, Salem Lutheran Church in Brenham. Eula loved the outdoors. She loved working in her garden and flower beds. Everyone always told her she had a green thumb because she could make anything grow. She also loved fishing and camping. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Adele Phillips of Conroe; grandchildren, Gayle Lynn Colburn and husband Thomas Kent Colburn of Livingston, Dr. Gregory Wayne Phillips and wife Dr. Loraine Hoffman Phillips of Brenham, Linda Lee Smith and husband Bruce Alan Smith of Conroe; great-grandchildren Jennifer and Carolyn Colburn of Austin, Joe and Rob Phillips of Brenham, and Morgan and Paige Smith of Conroe. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husbands, and son-in-law, Joe Phillips. Funeral services for Eula Adele Moody will be held Thursday, September 16, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Pastor Charles Parnell officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons Dr. Greg Phillips, Kent Colburn, Bruce Smith, and great-grandsons Joe Phillips and Rob Phillips. Honorary pallbearers are Donnie Derrick, A. W. Hodde, Johnny Lacina, Atwood Kenjura, A. W. Hartstack Jr., Rev. Bill Derrick and Tim Foehner.
