Evelyn Ruth Loesch Nitsch, 95, widow of Earl James Nitsch, passed away June 15, 2024 in Katy.
Visitation is scheduled for 5-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19th at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 20th at Grace Lutheran Church, with Pastor Ryan Ogrodowicz and Pastor William Holzer officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.
Evelyn Ruth Loesch was born July 16, 1928 in Meyersville to Oscar Heinrich and Ella Meyer Loesch. She was baptized November 4, 1928 and confirmed March 29, 1942. A 1947 graduate of Brenham High School, she graduated from Blinn College in 1949. She taught at several Lutheran schools including Grace Lutheran in Brenham, Our Savior Lutheran in Houston, and Gethsemane Lutheran in Houston.
On September 24, 1955, she married Earl James Nitsch. She was a loving wife and mother and she treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren. Having been a member of Grace Lutheran Church for many years, Evelyn was a devoted member of the LWML. She was also a hospice volunteer for 18 years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and family, gardening, and quilting.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Vickie Nitsch of Spring; daughter, Pamela Panettiere of Katy; sister-in-law, Evelyn Loesch of Georgetown; grandchildren, Anthony and Jennifer Panettiere; great grandson, Luke Panettiere; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Nitsch was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Nitsch, her parents Ella and Oscar Loesch, her brother Harvey Loesch; her brother-in-law Alfred Nitsch; her sister-in-law, Carrie Vininigre; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Clara and Otto Nitsch.
Serving as pallbearers are Mark Schwartz, John Seber, Curtis Seber, Michael Nitsch, David Nitsch and Scott Nitsch.
Memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church.
