Evelyn Shaw

Evelyn Gray Henderson Shaw passed from this life on April 5, 2004, in Burton, Texas. She married outstanding Texas A&M athlete and Representative to the 53rd Texas Legislature R.W. Jitterbug Henderson of Houston in 1942. She raised her family in the Houston Heights from 1946-76 and was a life underwriter with American General Life Insurance Company. Mrs. Shaw married cattleman W.E. Bill Shaw of Franklin in 1974 and resided in Burton since 1976. Evelyn is survived by her children, Diana Beil of Humble, John Beil Sr. of Cleveland, R.W. Jitter and Donna Henderson of Spring, Nona Henderson and Dan Strombom of East Brunswick, NJ, T.F. Tuffy Henderson of Spring, and Lisa and Mike Barry of Atlanta, GA; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham is 6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 8. Funeral services at St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton are at 10 a.m., Friday, April 9.
