Evelyn Wieghat, 71, of Brenham, died March 22, 2006, in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Mrs. Wieghat was born March 7, 1935, in Brenham, Texas, to Walter E. and Elsie Niemeyer Buro. She was baptized Oct. 6, 1936, at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin by Rev. A.J. Mohr and was confirmed at St. Peter s Lutheran Church on June 12, 1949, by Rev. A.E. Flathmann. Mrs. Wieghat attended public schools in Brenham and was a graduate of Brenham High School. She also attended Blinn College. In 1975, she attained licenses as an accredited medical records technician and medical transcriptionist. Mrs. Wieghat lived most of her life in Brenham, except for about four to five years, when she lived in Wharton, Bryan, Freeport and Orange. On July 17, 1955, she was married to R.H. Wieghat, Jr. at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill, by Rev. Louis Kramer. Mrs. Wieghat retired on April 1, 2000, after 26 years with hospitals in Brenham, first at St. Jude Hospital as director of medical records and then at Trinity Medical Center. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill and enjoyed reading and yard work. Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, David and Darlene Wieghat and Doyle Wieghat, all of Brenham; granddaughters, Jennifer Beaudet and husband Ryan, Ashley Wieghat and Catherine Wieghat; grandson, Tyson Wieghat; Tyson s family, Gina, Jimbo, Megan and Rachel Draehn; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Betty and Woodie Wolfenberger of Houston and Billy Ray Wellmann of Brenham; and numerous nephews and a niece. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.H. Wieghat, Jr. on Dec. 11, 1998; son, Don Keith Wieghat on Aug. 31, 2002; parents, Walter and Elsie Buro; parents-in-law, R.H. and Hildegard Wieghat; brothers, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Betty Jane and Elroy Buro, Walter H. Buro, Don G. Wieghat and Rose Ann Wellmann. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 24 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25 at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill with Pastor A.R. Sam Koenning officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rick Buro, Paul Buro, Elwood Kelm, Roy Kelm, Todd Wellmann and Joel Wellmann. Honorary pallbearer will be Ronnie Wolfenberger. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
