Ezra August Kelm, 87, of Brenham, widower of Ora Lee Kiel Kelm, died November 4, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Kelm was born February 23, 1922 to Edwald R. and Linda W. Rinn Kelm in Round Top, Texas. He was baptized August 6, 1922 by Pastor Falkenberg in Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top, and confirmed there on September 29, 1935 by Pastor W. Kralik. On July 26, 1945, he was married to Ora Lee Kiel by Pastor Kralik, also in Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Mr. Kelm was a retired farmer and painter. Survivors include his daughter, Doris Jankowiak and husband Johnnie of Brenham; grandchildren Christy Doss and husband Brad of College Station, and Chandra Jankowiak of Austin. Mr. Kelm was anxiously awaiting the birth of his first great-grandson. Preceding him in death were his wife, daughter and also his parents. Mr. Kelm served his country during World War II in the Army Air Force. A member of American Legion Post #338 of Round Top, he also was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the Round Top-Warrenton Fire Department. Funeral services for Ezra August Kelm will be held Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Pastor John David Nedbalek officiating. Burial will take place in the Richter Cemetery near Round Top. The family will receive friends and relatives at Memorial Oaks Chapel Friday evening from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Brad Doss, Roy Weyand, Kenneth Renner, Charles Jankowiak, Joe Hays, and Kirby Dippel. Members of the American Legion Post #338 will serve as honorary pallbearers. Memorials may directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top or to a favorite charity.
