Florence George

Florence Michalak George, 94, of Chappell Hill, widow of John Whitson George, Sr., passed away April 21, 2017 in Brenham.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Chappell Hill, with Father Josef Musiol, Officiant. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with a Rosary scheduled for 7 p.m.

Florence was born on August 17, 1922 in Chappell Hill to Albert and Mary (Felchak) Michalak. She was baptized in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. She was married to John Whitson George Sr. in Houston. She was a member of the Catholic Faith. Florence loved to tend to her farm animals. She loved to drive along the country side, and enjoyed playing bingo. Florence loved to cook, and everything she cooked was good and enjoyed by all. She will be greatly missed.

Florence is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law; Joe and Brenda George of Magnolia, and Raymond George of Chappell Hill. Also surviving are daughters and son-in-law, Beverly Meleski of Houston, and Mary and Fred Snell of Houston, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her sons, Johnny George, Leo Michalak, and Kenneth George.
