Frances was born on the 10th day of June, 1927, in the Houston Heights home of her parents, Richard Charles Melde and Marie (Moerbe) Melde. She entered into eternal rest early on Tuesday morning, April 11, 2017.
She was baptized into the life, death and resurrection of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 17, 1927 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Houston and was confirmed there in her Christian faith on March 17, 1940. She was a graduate of John H Reagan High School – the very same school her children would later attend. In 1946, Frances met the love of her life, Clarence Charles Christian Tiemann and the two were married on November 14th of that same year. They made their home in the Houston Heights where they raised their three children. Frances was an active member of her church, serving as a Sunday School Teacher and as a volunteer for Sunday services at Jeff Davis Hospital. Family time was always an important part of her life. But the most treasured times were those spent with family at their “second home” near Burton. It was to this home that she and Clarence retired in 1986.
Frances will be remembered for her great love of animals – all those homeless pets that she adopted, loved and cared for over the years! She was known for her cooking skills, including her Sunday roast beef and gravy, her Christmas sugar cookies, her Thanksgiving cornbread stuffing and her wonderful lemon meringue pies.
Frances is survived by her children – James and Cathy Tiemann, Sandra and Andre Delacroix and Terry Tiemann; and her grandchildren – James Jr, Matthew and Sarah Tiemann and Christian and Sophia Delacroix; and by her sister, Marie Melde. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her husband’s parents, Ben and Hulda (Wehmeyer) Tiemann; her brother, Richard Melde Jr; her sister, Florence Melde; and her nephew, Richard Melde III.
