Frank W. Dickschat, 87, husband of Edith Roese Dickschat, passed away November 11, 2010 in The Care Center of Brenham. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Friedens United Church of Christ in Washington, Texas. Mr. Greg Felder will officiate. The family will receive friends and relatives Saturday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Born November 26, 1922 in Washington, Tx. to Frank C. and Emma Bohne Dickschat, he was baptized in the Friedens United Church of Christ in Washington, and later confirmed in the same church. Frank was educated in the Washington school. On June 27, 1948, he was married to Edith Roese, also in Friedens United Church of Christ, and he remained a lifetime member of this church. He served as the church groundskeeper for 21 years. Frank was a dairyman, a cotton farmer, and a rancher who loved hunting, trapping, picking and shelling pecans. A favorite hobby was gardening, and he took great pleasure in giving the produce to his friends and neighbors. Survivors include his wife, Edith Dickschat of Washington; sisters-in-law Lorene Sis Riechers of Brenham and Annie Mae Dickschat of Anderson, and brother-in-law Harold Pete Roese and wife Terrie of Comfort. Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends also survive him. He was preceded in death by his son, Alton Carl Dickschat, sister Rosa Lambert, and brothers Edwin, Otto and William Dickschat. Serving as pallbearers are Fred Louis Westerfeld, David Jones Clay, Pat Jolly, James Pelkemeyer, Herbert Skeeter Stolz, John Williams and Fritz Bohne III. Honorary pallbearers are Bubba Roese, Arthur Lawrence Steele, Don Hinze, Walter Schroeder, Bobby Hohlt, and Tommy Wellmann. Memorials may be directed to the Friedens United Church of Christ.
