Franklin Jasinski

Franklin Dewayne Schotts Jasinski, 57, of Brenham, died June 26, 2004, at his home surrounded by his family. Dewayne was born in Brenham, Texas, on November 3, 1946, the second of three children born to Frank John and Billie Marie Maynard Jasinski. He was baptized on November 29, 1949 and confirmed on November 13, 1960, at St. Mary s Catholic Church in Brenham, Texas. Mr. Jasinski grew up in Brenham and attended St. Mary s Catholic School and was a 1965 graduate of Brenham High School, where he excelled in track and represented BHS twice in the state track meet. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1969, and was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War. On April 20, 1968, he married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Ann Buddenberg, at St. James Lutheran Church, New Wehdem. On January 11, 1970, he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith by Rev. Willard Z. Rother at St. James. Mr. Jasinski was the owner of Grimm s Radiator and Double J Quail Farm. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem, a life member of the VFW Post # 7104 and the Pleasant Hill/New Wehdem Shooting Club. Schotts never met a stranger. He lived his life with honesty and integrity, always filled with humor and received his greatest pleasure from his family. He was so very proud of all of his children and his precious Shelby and Jake. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Jasinski of Brenham; sons, Bradley Wayne Jasinski and wife Amy of Brenham; Anthony Scott Jasinski and fiancée Erika Ann Banks of Austin; daughter, Larissa Ann Olson and husband Eric of Brenham; mother, Billie Marie Jasinski of Brenham; grandchildren, Shelby Ann Olson and Jake Eric Olson of Brenham; sister, Joy Rybarski and husband Steve of Brenham; brother, Lenny Jasinski and wife Diane of Dripping Springs; mother-in-law, Bernice Buddenberg of Brenham; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Sandra Teufel of Brenham and Cynthia and David Tharp of Seabrook; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Jasinski; his father-in-law, William Jake Buddenberg; brothers-in-law, Odis Teufel and Scott Buddenberg; and a niece, Amy Teufel. At the family s request, Mr. Jasinski s casket will be closed at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Oaks Chapel and will remain closed at the church. The funeral service for Dewayne Schotts Jasinski will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 29 in St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem with Pastor Bob Myers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. today in Memorial Oaks Chapel. Pallbearers will be Ray Rodenbeck, Dale Williamson, Ralph Tiemann, Jimmie Dreyer, Roger Hannath, Ray Stelter, Roger Kelm, Tommy Holle, Mike Redman, Roy Kokemoor, Travis T-Ray Sander and Harvey Arldt. Honorary pallbearers are his Monday night card group, deer hunting buddies, Fish or Knot group, Ro-Han golfing buddies, Karen Dreyer and Ronnie and Glenda Neutzler. Memorials may be given to St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem, Hospice, the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Terry Jenkins and the caring staff of St. Joseph s Cancer Center, and to the many, many friends who kept us uplifted this past year.
