Franklin L. Macik, 82, of Brenham, died Oct. 1, 2012 at High Hope Care Center in Brenham. Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 5, at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville with Pastor Virgil Pecht officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors at Memorial Oaks Chapel Thursday, Oct. 4 from 5-8 p.m. Mr. Macik was born Aug. 1, 1930 in Snook, Texas, to John and Minnie Hubernak Macik and was baptized Sept. 21, 1930 at Snook Brethren Church. He attended school in Snook. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany for two years. On Dec. 5, 1992, he was married to Alice Bertha Fieseler at Salem Lutheran Church of Salem by Pastor Bill Derrick. Mr. Macik worked at a cotton gin in Snook for 18 years and was a warehouseman at Better Beverages in Brenham for 17 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville. Survivors include his wife, Alice Macik of Brenham; daughter and son-in-law, Lillian and Dale Piver of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandson, Howard Wilson of Greenwood, Indiana; brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Inez Macik of Snook; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elsie Ricicar of Hitchcock, Frances Sebesta of Snook, Loretta Nedbalek of Beaver Creek and Billie Jean and Hubert Horcica of College Station; stepsons and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Judy Niemeyer and Grady Niemeyer, all of Brenham; stepgranddaughter, Aliceson Lueckemeyer and husband Kyle of Spring; stepgreat-grandson, Caleb Lueckemeyer of Spring; stepsisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Esther and Alfred Lampe, Sigmund Fieseler, JoAnn Reimer and Laura Fieseler, all of Brenham, Mildred Bartos of Bryan and Edward Wieke of Monroeville, Indiana; numerous nieces, nephews, and stepnieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Rudolph, Johnnie and Willie Macik; a sister, Sadie Sebesta; and two infant siblings. Pallbearers will be Edward Macik, Kirk Macik, Ronnie Horcica, Bennie Ray Sebesta, Jimmy Ricicar, Dennis Jones, Waldo Sebesta and Michael Horcica. Honorary pallbearers will be Sigmund Fieseler, Robert Babin, Joe Skopik, and the crew he worked with at Better Beverages.
