Fred William Seidel, 88, husband of Blanche Landua Seidel, died December 17, 2012 in Scott and White Hospital in Brenham. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2012 in St. Paul''s Lutheran Church of Brenham, with Pastors Phil Fenton and Kindlee Lund officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday evening from 5:30 until 7 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Fred Seidel was born October 31, 1924 in Brenham to Lawrence Earnest and Thelma Amsler Seidel. Baptized April 26, 1925 in St. Paul''s Lutheran Church by Rev. Arthur E. Hartmann, he was also confirmed there September 25, 1938 by Rev. Hartmann. He was a 1942 graduate of Brenham High School, and obtained a B.S. degree from Texas A&M University in 1949. A veteran of WWII, he was married to Blanche Landua at St. Paul''s Lutheran Church of Brenham on May 25, 1947 by Rev. Theo K. Streng. Employed as an Agricultural Engineer for Robert Lange, Inc. for 35 years, he also served three terms on the council of St. Paul''s Lutheran Church, where he served also as Sunday school superintendent. Along with his family, he was a lifetime member of St. Paul''s Lutheran Church. Mr. Seidel was also a member of the American Legion, and served on the school board of B.I.S.D. for eight years. Survivors include his wife, Blanche Seidel; son and daughter-in-law Wade and Susie Seidel of Brenham, and daughter and son-in-law, Kay S. and Steve Carnahan of Rosenberg; grandchildren: Sam and Lainey Seidel, and Sarah and Arty Brieden; great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Evelyn, and Ann Margaret Brieden; sister, LaThel S. Schroeder of Brenham, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mabel and Ray Hill. Preceding him in death were his parents, Lawrence and Thelma Seidel, a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Clarence Meacham, a brother-in-law Rudy Schroeder, and a nephew, Allan Schroeder. Serving as pallbearers are Gene Eckert, William Klingsporn, Ed Kruse, Howard Kruse, Pierre Roberts, Don Schroeder, Jeff Landua, Sam Seidel, and Arty Brieden. All former employees of Robert Lange will be considered honorary pallbearers. Funeral arrangements for Fred Seidel are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
