Frederick Roberts

Frederick Leroy Fred Roberts, 77, of Brenham, died December 1, 2005, at his residence. Mr. Roberts was born December 31, 1927, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Carl H. and Bessie Lenora Dear Roberts. He served in the U.S. Navy. On January 18, 1953, he was married to Wanda Carol Harpest in Logan County, Ohio. Mr. Roberts worked at Valmont and was retired from Brenham Wholesale Grocery. He also was employed at The Banner-Press and the Flowermarket. Survivors include his wife, Carol Roberts of Brenham; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Lee and Janice Roberts of Sealy, Bruce Alan Roberts of Brenham and Chris Frederick Roberts of Brenham; grandchildren and their spouses, Jamie and Mike Prigmore, Jason and Ashley Roberts and Brad Roberts; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and the Rev. Dewey Nickels of Lincoln, Nebraska; stepmother, Esther Roberts of Bourbonnais, Illinois; five nephews and one niece. The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 in Memorial Oaks Chapel with Pastor Gary Jeter officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. Pallbearers will be Jason Roberts, Brad Roberts, Mike Prigmore, Clem Krolczyk, Richard Goodlett, and Jason Jaster. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations directed to Hospice Brazos Valley or First Christian Church in Brenham.
