Fritz Quade Jaehne, 75, of Brenham, husband of Diane Kettler Jaehne, died March 20, 2018, at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in College Station.
The funeral service for Fritz Jaehne will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn with Pastor Mark Moldenhauer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, March 23 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Fritz was born March 27, 1942, in Pasadena, TX, to Fritz and Viola (Quade) Jaehne. He was baptized at Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Giddings and confirmed at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham on April 14, 1957. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from November 10, 1960 to 1964.
After returning home from the U.S. Marines, Fritz married his best friend and the love of his life, Diane Kettler, on June 5, 1966 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn by Pastor Paul Hartfield. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage. Fritz was a truck driver and route salesman. He retired from Blue Bell Creameries as a long haul driver. He was proud of his children, Don and Gail, and enjoyed his cattle and fishing.
Fritz had a massive heart attack in 2008. He wanted to see his grandchildren grow up and was blessed with the gift of a heart transplant on March 23, 2009, which gave him nine more years with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Jaehne of Brenham; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Allison Jaehne of Shiner; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Mark Andrejczak of Brenham; grandchildren, DJ Jaehne and special friend Alexis Rainosek, Allan Jaehne, Haley Andrejczak, Joshua Andrejczak, William Andrejczak and Aiden Andrejczak; brother-in-law, Calvin Braun and special friend Doris Koehne; sister-in-law, Beverly Jaehne; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Doris and Delwin Gaskamp; nephews and nieces, Elan and Dedra Braun, Kase and Dora Braun, Diedra and Brent Centilli, Cindy and Bradley Schomburg, and Lori and Chad Schramme. Special family members include Ruby Read, Debbie Lehrmann, JoAnn and Kevin Koehn, Alyssa and Louis Eswood, and Kayla and Luis Velasquez.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fritz and Viola (Quade) Jaehne; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert and Alvina (Ashorn) Kettler; brother, Roger Jaehne; sister, Doris Braun; an infant brother; sister-in-law, Barbara Ann Kettler; cousins, Otto and Dorothy Lehrmann and Joe Read; and special aunts, Lydia Lehrmann and Mamie Quade.
Pallbearers will be Elan Braun, Kase Braun, Kevin Koehn, Michael Schroeder, Shane Schroeder and Matthew Kettler.
Memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn.
