Gary D. Hinze, 52, husband of Donna Bethke Hinze, died June 21, 2009 in Trinity Medical Center. Born in Brenham on July 30, 1956 to Oscar and Lois Simank Hinze, he was baptized in Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn by Pastor H. G. Scholz on August 26, 1956, and confirmed there by Pastor Paul Hartfield on March 15, 1979, where he was also a member of the Youth League. He was a 1974 graduate of Brenham High School, and later attended the Austin Trade and Technical School. On September 17, 1977, he married Donna Bethke in Grace Lutheran Church of Brenham. He was the co-owner of H & H Agri-Services. Mr. Hinze was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn, where he also served as an usher. He loved to be with his son and his family. Favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. He especially loved to tinker with his ''78 and ''68 Chevy trucks. He was an excellent mechanic. Survivors include his wife, Donna Bethke Hinze; a son Tyler Hinze of Brenham; brothers Lester Hinze and Keith Hinze, both of Brenham; father Oscar Hinze; father-in-law and mother-in-law Wayne and Ruth Bethke of Brenham; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Carol Mueller of Giddings, Lynne and Andrew McCartney of Aledo, Texas and Lori and O''Brien Hughes of The Woodlands; nephews Brandon Mueller, Matthew McCartney, and Liam Hughes. Preceding him in death was his mother, Lois Hinze, and his grandparents. Funeral services for Gary D. Hinze will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn with Pastor Jeffrey King officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will take place Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are David Dreyer, Robert Fairlie, Jr., Bruce Ketter, Lloyd Neutzler, James Schroeder, and Dean Winkelmann. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of H & H Agri-Services. Memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn. Funeral services have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main, Brenham.
