Gayle Lynn Maresh, 84, of Brenham, Texas, left us to be with our Lord on October 23, 2024, in College Station, Texas. She was born on August 24, 1940, to Luther Johnson and May Belle (Wood) Young in Brenham, TX.
Gayle attended Somerville High School, where she was known for her charm and school spirit. She was voted FFA Sweetheart in her sophomore year, proudly served as a cheerleader in her junior year, and recognized as Most Attractive in her senior year.
Gayle embraced her role as a homemaker, raising her beloved children and creating a warm, loving home. When Gayle was living in Houston, she enjoyed volunteering her time as a Candy Striper at the hospital. Gayle maintained her love of family, was always calling and checking in, no matter where. She expressed gratitude for her long life of 84 years. Gayle's fur baby, Babe, was a constant companion and dear to her heart.
She is survived by her son, Mark Maresh, and his wife, Connie; her daughter, Tanya Ferraris, and her husband, Max; and her cherished grandchildren, Travis McNear and Cameron Maresh. She is also survived by her brother, L.J. Young, and his wife, Mary; her sister, Judy Kettrick; her brother-in-law, Robert Wallace; and many nieces and nephews, including Donna Kettrick Gandy, Mitchell Kettrick, Rhonda Kettrick Cupit, Bruce Young, Brent Young, Debbie Schindler Sager, Donda Young, Scott Young, Jennifer Lee Zander; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Brandy Scholze, Megan Gandy, Chelsea Thornton, Shelby Kettrick, Katie Cupit Mullins, Austin Cupit, Kellianne Cupit, Cheyenne Cupit, Justin Cupit, Tyler Young, Adrianne Stone, Chandler Young, Austin Young, Braden Young, Caitlin Young, Kendal Young, Shani Young, Riley Young, Matthew Sager.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Everette Wayne Young; her sisters, Jackie Schindler Wallace and Lavelle Young Zander; her brothers-in-law, Ross Sterling Zander, Fred Coles Kettrick, and E.L. Schindler; and her nephews, James Dale Schindler and Brian Jean Young.

A Memorial Service will be held to honor and celebrate Gayle's life on November 9, 2024, at 11:30, located at Independence Baptist Church, 10405 FM 50, Brenham, TX.
After the service there will be a celebration lunch catered at the church.
Post Church Celebration, her URN will have a resting home at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery Columbarium, Deanville Texas. Her wishes were to have her ashes located in Deanville. The guests are welcome to join after the Memorial Service (34 miles).
