George Hendrickson

George Kenneth Hendrickson, 80, husband of Marie Morris Hendrickson, passed away Feb. 11, 2011 at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Fellowship Baptist Church, 2000 FM 389, Brenham, with Pastor Darren Donaldsen officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery in Chappell Hill. The family will receive friends and relatives Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. George was born May 29, 1930 in Houston, Texas to Ralph Sr. and Georgia Alice Telford Hendrickson. He was educated in the Houston area, and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, later serving in the U. S. Army Reserves. George was a loving husband, father, and "Grandad" whose life was totally invested in his family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and dream about the Old West. He was a devoted Christian and an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Brenham, Texas for 25 years, where he served on the Building and Grounds Committee, and as a Church Trustee. Survivors include his wife, Marie Hendrickson of Chappell Hill; daughters and sons-in-law Lorinda DeLaughter and husband, Roger of Cypress; Donna Morris and husband Bobby of Montgomery; grandchildren: Jonathan DeLaughter and wife, Ashley Merten, Tiffany DeLaughter Wallin, April Morris Jackson and husband Eric, and Adam Morris; great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Marie Wallin; brothers and sisters-in-law Bert Hendrickson and wife Carol of Tomball; sister Hazel Goldston of Houston; brother-in-law Ray Morris and wife, Beverly, plus numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and a Church family whom he loved very much. George was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Ralph Hendrickson, Jr. and Jack Hendrickson. Serving as pallbearers are Jonathan DeLaughter, Adam Morris, Eric Jackson, Brady Hughes, Calvin Hendrickson, Allen Hendrickson, Adam Nuti, and Calvin Boecker.
