George Edward Hiebeler, passed away on March 27, 2009, at age 87. He was born Sept. 15, 1921, in Chatham, New York, to George Sr. and Evelyn Osborne Hiebeler. He is survived by his wife, Lillian. They were married on Feb. 12, 1944. They had 65 loving years of marriage. He is also survived by his son Robert Hiebeler and wife Mary of Chatham, N.Y., grandson David and wife Ellie, great-grandson Lucas Edward of Maine, granddaughter Christine Salcedo and husband Jakob, great-grandsons Camden and Joseph and great-granddaughter Ava of Connecticut; son, William Hiebeler and wife Diana of Leander, Texas and granddaughter Elisa; daughter Georgia Sullivan and husband Mark of Albany, N.Y., granddaughter Julie Sullivan, great-grandson William Traynor, grandson Andrew, granddaughter Rachel Altimari and husband Sean, great-granddaughters Arianna and Laila and grandson Kevin; daughter Gloria Hill and husband Scott of Brenham, granddaughters Rebecca, Sarah, Hannah, Lydia, Abigail and Naomi. Mr. Hiebeler was an Air Force veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He operated a farm in Chatham, N.Y. with his father until 1968. In 1984 he retired from a pharmaceutical company and came to Texas, settling in Brenham in 1994. Calling hours at Memorial Oaks Chapel are set for noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 28. Graveside services at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 28. Memorial contributions can be given to Hospice Brazos Valley.
