Georgie Gene Foerster, 81, of Burton, died October 27, 2010 in St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 30 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg with Pastor Steve Cox officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Mrs. Foerster was born November 18, 1928 in Robstown, Nueces County, Texas to George and Lena Cook Tschiedel. She was baptized in St. John s Catholic Church in Fayetteville. In 1946, she graduated as valedictorian from Fayetteville High School. On April 6, 1947 she was married to Gustav Foerster Jr. in Swiss Alp Lutheran Church. Mrs. Foerster and her husband owned and operated Gus Long Point Store in Long Point for many years. Mrs. Foerster was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg. She loved her family, deer hunting, gardening and being around people. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney and Cindy Foerster of Brenham and Gary and Eileen Foerster of Houston; a daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Jim Rodgers of Tomball; three grandchildren, Meredith Foerster, Alec Foerster and Cullen Rodgers; sister, Annie Mae Janish of Fayetteville; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gustav Foerster Jr., an infant son Gus Foerster III, a brother Raymond Tschiedel, and a sister Ivy Kubena. Pallbearers will be Leslie Kelm, Pete Demuth, Herbert Rust, Alec Foerster, Cullen Rodgers, Jim Rodgers and Garland Sehlke. Honorary pallbearers will be her dear friends, Pat Kirts and Lillie Hohlt. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., Brenham 979 836-4564.
