Gerald Patrick Pat Derrick, 62, of Brenham, died Thursday in Trinity Medical Center Hospital in Brenham. Mr. Derrick was born May 28, 1940, in Burton, Texas, to Earl and Janet Derrick. He was a graduate of Brenham High School, Blinn College amd Sam Houston State University. Mr. Derrick taught and coached in Port Lavaca and Spring Branch School districts and later in construction business. Mr. Derrick was a member of the Brenham Elks Lodge. Survivors include his aunts Louise Derrick of Burton, Allyne Derrick of Burton, brother-in-Law Gary Mokry and wife Sue of Spring, nephew Justin Mokry of Spring, niece Susanne Mokry of Spring, numerous cousins and friend Lila Carbaugh. Mr. Derrick was preceded in death by his parents Earl & Janet Derrick and his sister Susan Derrick Mokry. The funeral service for Gerald Patrick Derrick will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in Memorial Oaks Chapel with Mr. Teddy Menyard officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Oaks Chapel. Pallbearers will be Gene LaFleur, John Bosse, Mike Cole, Charles Barnes, Kermit Lee Harper, Fred Sander, Bobby Askins, and Sam King Winkelmann. Honorary pallbearers will be Calvin Janner, Herman Borchardt, Ben Boenke, Charlie Bill Kriegel, the Sam Houston State University Football team of 1961, and his golf friends Memorials may be given to the Brenham Elks Lodge. Funeral arrangements for Gerald Patrick Derrick are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, member of Selected Independent Funeral Homes, 1306 West Main, Brenham, TX.
