Gerard L. (Gary) Mokry 72 of Spring Texas passed away peacefully on December 17, 2016 after a long illness. Visitation will be in Brenham from 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 22 at 11:00 at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Deacon Al Prescott. Burial will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Gary was born on July 3, 1944 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Steve J. Mokry and Emilie (Valasta) Polasek. Gary graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 1962. He went on to graduate from Del Mar College in 1965 with an Associate in Applied Science Drafting Technology degree. He was employed at Schuler & Allan Associates from 1968-1970, Marathon Letourneau Inc, Houston, Singapore, Brownsville, Texas, 1970-1980, Astreos Correntes 1980-1983, Waller & Associate, Global Marine Drilling Co., Hudson Products Corporation 1990-2015.

He was a member of St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, 22800 Aldine Westfield, Spring, Texas 77373, Telephone 281-353-5053, K.J.T. Corpus Christi, Texas, The Moravian Club of Corpus Christi, Texas, First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association.

He is survived by his wife Susan M. (Istre) Mokry, son Justin Derrick Mokry, Daughter-in-law Tonja (Denman) Mokry, Granddaughter Kendallynn Rose Mokry, Miranda Kay Taylor, Daughter Susanne Janet (Mokry) Munguia, Son-in-law Ralph Munguia, Granddaughter Isabella Ramos, Mother-in-law Thelma (Morgan) Istre, Brother-in-laws Ronnie Istre and special friend Brenda Gaydos, Jerry Istre, Sister-in-law Carol (Istre) and husband Dave McGill, Daughter Shelly DeLoach, Son-in-law Kevin DeLoach, Granddaughters Jessica and Rachel DeLoach, Son Todd Schultz and special friend Kristen Ramanio, Granddaughter Emily Schultz, Great Grand Son Damien Schultz and Hannah Schultz, Son Darrell Schultz and Daughter-in-law Sarah (Eakin) Schultz, Sister Loraine (Mokry) Nemec, Nephews James, Tommy and wife Sheryl, Paul, Wayne, Jerald, Nieces Janice and husband Barry Clark, Sharon and husband Will Snyder, Sister Catherine Mokry, Sister Leona and husband Bill A. Williams, Nephews Jeffrey and wife Laurie, Billy and wife Dana Williams, Niece Jeanette (Williams) and husband Scott Parsley, Brother Edmund and wife Elizabeth (Koliba) Mokry, Nieces Florence and husband Ren MacNary, Barbara and husband David Moss, Nephews Michael Mokry and special friend Mendy Vickers, Martin and wife Ginger (Lopez) Mokry, Ernest and wife Gina (Evans) Mokry, Brother Timothy Joe and wife Cathie (Crouch) Mokry, Brother Louis and Daughter Laurie and husband Travis. Gary was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, first wife Susan (Derrick) Mokry, Brothers Steve R. Mokry, and Louise V. Mokry.

Serving as pallbearers are James Nemec, Michael Mokry, Travis Mutscher, Martin Mokry, Connor Parsley, and Kevin DeLoach. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Derrick, Donnie Derrick, Bill A. Williams, Edmund Mokry, Jerry Istre, and Ren MacNary.
