Gertrude Bilski

Gertrude Springer Bilski, 74, of Chappell Hill, TX, died March 24, 2003, in Colonial Belle Nursing Home in Sealy, TX. Mrs. Bilski was born Jan. 2, 1929, in Chappell Hill, TX, to Henry and Sophie Lewandowski Springer. She was baptized and confirmed in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Chappell Hill. On April 5, 1995, she married Victor Bilski in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Chappell Hill. Mrs. Bilski was a homemaker, and in her younger years, she worked for National Biscuit Co. in Houston. Mrs. Bilski was a lifelong member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, where she was a member of the choir and the Altar Society. Survivors include her husband, Victor Bilski of Chappell Hill; sisters and brothers-in-law, Monica and Chester Lucherk of Burton, Dorothy and Roy Matthews of Houston and Stephanie and Kenneth Middleton of Houston; mother-in-law, Mary Bilski of Sealy; brothers-in-law, Brosie Kimich of Waller and Rufus Cone of Chappell Hill; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Florian and Ann Bilski of Brenham; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bibiann and Robert Konieczny of Sealy, Albina and Andrew Macejewski, Mary and Woodrow Wilson Pool, and a large number of nieces and nephews, all of whom were special to her. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Mary Cone, Theresa Kimich, Clara Cone and Martina Springer. The funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 28 in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Chappell Hill with Father Eugene Shepard, celebrant. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Rosary, led by the Altar Society, will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. The parish rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 27 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
