Gertrude Ellermann, 85, of Brenham, died March 19, 2005, in Brenham Rest Home. Miss Ellermann was born Aug. 26, 1919, in Wiedeville, Texas, to Henry and Martha Schulze Ellermann. She was baptized Aug. 28, 1919, in Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville and was confirmed March 25, 1934, in St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill. She was educated in Kuykendall School. Miss Ellermann was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill, where she served on the Christian service committee for a number of years and on the Altar Guild. She owned the Ellermann Dairy from 1949 to the 1970s. Miss Ellermann loved her garden, flowers, baking and canning. Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Henry Al and Nina Ellermann of Brenham; two nieces and nephews, Frances and Rudy Dana and Rachel and Mark Niebuhr, all of Brenham; and great-nephews and great-nieces, John Dana, Emily Dana, Justin Dana and Mattie Niebuhr. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Martha Ellermann. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, in St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Sandy Hill with Pastor Jim Abbott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, in Memorial Oaks Chapel. Pallbearers will be Robert Bobby Meyer, Don Holtkamp, John Dana, Rudy Dana, Mark Niebuhr and Mike Wehring. Friends and relatives will be considered honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be given to St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Sandy Hill.
