Gertrude Graalmann

February 8, 1911 — April 16, 2010

Gertrude Trudy Graalmann Gertrude Trudy Graalmann was born February 8, 1911 in Runge Texas to Helene Lange Schneider and T. F. Frank Schneider. After a brief illness, Trudy passed away Friday April 16, 2010 at the age of 99 in Brenham Texas. For many years she had been provided care by and lived at the Kruse Village Retirement Center in Brenham Texas. After the death of her husband she was provided care by the staff at Kruse Village with special care provided by her good friends Adeline Quade and the late Ray Quade of Brenham and many other friends and family not mentioned by name. Trudy was loved by many and will be missed by all. As the wife of a Lutheran Minister for over 55 years, she came in contact with many people. Even as she was struggling in recent years with numerous medical problems that occur with old age, her concern was not for herself but for others who came to assist or to visit with her. Those that knew her will remember her sweet and fun loving nature. We especially remember her joy of giggling with a newborn puppy in her lap when they were brought to Kruse for a visit this past year. As long as she was able, Trudy was always there to give a word of encouragement and provide a helping hand to others. Trudy was instrumental in the Lutheran Ministries in Texas, with her husband, living in Big Springs serving surrounding congregations, Brenham, Corpus Christi, La Grange, San Antonio, and back to Brenham at retirement. Trudy cared for her Mother her whole life until she passed away at the age of 90. Trudy is preceded in death by her parents and her husband the Rev. Theodore H. Ted Graalmann. She was also preceded in death by four brothers; Willie Lange, Charlie Lange, Richard Lange, Gus Lange, and six sisters; Ida Lange, Ada Lange, Mina Lange, Annie Knocke, Erna Knocke, and Frieda Dittfurth. Trudy is survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and many friends and acquaintances. Visitation will be Monday evening April 19, 2010 from 6PM-8PM at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham, Texas. Funeral Service will be held at 11AM Tuesday April 20, 2010 at Grace Lutheran Church, 1212 Jefferson, Brenham, Texas with burial immediately following at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Pastors Mathew Jacobs and William Holzer will officiate. Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers are: Herbert Faske, Alvin Novosad, Tom Knodt, Stefan Riha, Brian Searcy, Jason Vaughn, Christopher Vaughn, James Proske and Robert Loesch.
