Gertrude Louise Quade, 77, of Brenham died on Wednesday afternoon, November 24, 2004 in Kruse Lutheran Village. Born in Burton, Washington County, Texas on January 12, 1927, Gertrude was the daughter of William Henry & Lillian Louise Hohlt Quade. She was baptized in St. John s Evangelical Church at Burton on April 24, 1927. On August 25, 1940, she was confirmed in Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church in the Berlin community. She attended Brenham High School. Ms. Quade was a homemaker. Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Allyne & J. Hal Machat and a nephew, William Howard Machat and his wife, Dini. The family will receive callers in Memorial Oaks Chapel on Friday evening, November 26, between the hours of 6 and 8 o clock. The funeral service will be held in Memorial Oaks Chapel on Saturday morning, November 27 at 10 o clock with Rev. Virgil Pecht officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Pallbearers include Wilfred Hohlt, Wilber Hohlt, Ewald Grawunder, Gene Mikes, Elwood Oevermann and Roger Winkelmann. The family will consider as honorary pallbearers Larry Stark, Garret Hugo, Eddie Struckmeyer and Leroy Nordt. Memorial contributions may be given to Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin where Ms. Quade has been a longtime member. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Memorial Oaks Chapel, Inc.; 1306 W. Main St., Brenham.
