Gladys Davis

Gladys Munz Davis, 91, of Brenham went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 5, 2009. She was born February 22, 1918, in Brenham, Texas, a daughter of the late Carrie and Phillip Munz. She was preceded in death by brothers Harvey, Wilson, and Carroll, and her husband Thomas Morris Davis and great-grandson J.C. Swartz. She is survived by a son, Don Davis, of Macon, Georgia and a daughter Jeanie Chuck Swartz of Bellefontaine, Ohio; grandchildren Mark Swartz Trisha of Monroe, Ohio, Jeremy Swartz Jennifer of Fort Edward, New York, and Heidi Swartz of Harrisonburg, Virginia. Great-grandchildren include Justin Swartz, Jadin Swartz, and Regan Swartz. She is also survived by a devoted friend and caregiver for ten years, Lori Korus of Carmine. A lifelong member of United Methodist Church, she played organ and piano for many years. She was a talented seamstress who made many outfits for her grandchildren. Other interests included crocheting, fishing, watching professional basketball, and spending quality time with her miniature Schnauzers. The funeral will be Friday, April 10, at Memorial Oaks Funeral Chapel in Brenham. The service will begin at 11:00 A.M. with visitation from 10:00-11:00. Burial follows in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one''s choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W.
