Gladys Heckmann Krause, 89, of Brenham, died Dec. 27, 2006, at Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Mrs. Krause was born Dec. 20, 1917, in Gay Hill, Washington County, Texas, to Rudolph and Malinde Bohne Heckmann. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill and was educated in the Gay Hill School. On May 8, 1942, she was married to Benny G. Krause in Yuma, Arizona. Mrs. Krause was a homemaker and was a member of St. Peter s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Donald & Debbie Krause of Houston; daughters and son-in-law, Carol Roark of Austin and Virginia & Sid Rogers of Forney; grandchildren, Marcus and Lisa Roark, Micah Roark, Emilie Krause, Lindsie Krause, Jason and Shelli Rogers and Regina and Jim Williamson; great-grandchildren, Camron Rogers, Sydney Rogers, Macy Williamson, Shade McCullough, Samantha McCullough and Zane Maddox; a brother, Harry Heckmann of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Lillian Werchan of Flower Mound; and numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benny G. Krause, on June 2, 1982; and a brother, Erwin Heckmann. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29 at St. Peter s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill with Pastor Virgil Pecht officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Memorials may be given to St. Peter s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill.
