Glen Pohlmeyer

Glen Earl Pohlmeyer, 82, husband of Geraldine Schwartz Pohlmeyer, died November 4, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn, with Pastor Jeffrey King officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Glen was born May 8, 1930 in the William Penn Community to Willie C. and Bertha Lueckemeyer Pohlmeyer. He was baptized June 15, 1930 and confirmed March 25, 1945. Glen proudly served his country for 4 years in the U. S. Air Force, assigned to the 3700 Personnel Div. at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. He obtained a B.B.A. from Sam Hoston State University. On June 24, 1956, he was married to Geraldine Schwartz in Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Wm. Penn by the Rev. Theo R. Griesse. A devoted employee of the Coca Cola Co., he retired early due to health reasons. Glen especially loved his family. His children, grandchildren and two little great-grandchildren were especially dear to him. He loved spending time outside in his vegetable and flower garden and treasured time spent with his favorite cat, Rusty. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Pohlmeyer; son and daughter-in-law Gerald D. Pohlmeyer and Lisa of Georgetown; daughters Glenda Denise Chalk and husband Steve of Katy; Gail Destry Pohlmeyer and special friend Mark Kopycinski of Brenham; grandchildren: Nathan C. Pohlmeyer and wife Sarah, Jarrod T. Pohlmeyer and wife Taylor, and Erin Marie Bower; great-grandchildren: Eli Grayson and Zachary Cole Pohlmeyer; sister, Vernell Gaddy of Brenham,; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Edgar and Sandra Schwartz, Milton Schwartz, Kenneth and Marie Schwartz, Edward Schwartz, Gloria Ann and Raymond Klussmann, and Trenton Dean Schwartz, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, W. C. and Bertha Pohlmeyer, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry R. and Lydia Schwartz. Serving as pallbearers are Randy Gaddy, Rodney Gaddy, Robert Schwartz, Jordan Schwartz, Kenneth Dean Schwartz, Bertrand Klussmann, Bradley Klussmann, and Brian Klussmann. Honorary pallbearers are Timothy Buchannan, Ron Ahasan, Brett Bortnem, Stephane Dissake, Jeremy Guthrie, Arthur Maya, Billy Guy Carroll, and Maury Barnes.
