Glenn Jaster was born October 23, 1943 in Brenham to Otto and Elma Jahnke Jaster. He served in the U. S. Army. On January 22, 1967, he married Vinnie Rene Schroeder at Zion Lutheran Church in Anderson, Texas.

Glenn was a faithful member of Independence Baptist Church until his death. He was known to say: “Some people make excuses not to go to church; I make excuses to go to church.” A motto passed down from his grandfather, Gottlieb Jaster, stated: “The Good Lord promises you living (meaning birth) and dying: Make the most of the in-between (your life). Glenn made the most of his life here on earth, mentoring young people, taking chances on people that others had lost faith in. He was a testament in his faith in God.

Glenn enjoyed fishing and roping in his younger days. He held a number of jobs, mainly commercial farming and ranching.

Survivors include his son, Ross Jaster of Holland, Texas; Sandra Parker and husband Dustin of Brenham; grandchildren: Tyler Kmiec and fiancé, Felicia Bennett; Tiffany Rosenkranz, and Ronnie Parker. Also surviving are two great-grandchildren. Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Vinnie Jaster; parents, Otto and Elma Jaster, and brother, Donald Jaster.

Serving as pallbearers are Chad Love, Scottie Schwartz, Darrell Winkelmann, Tyler Kmiec, Ronnie Parker, and Mike Supak. Members of Independence Baptist Church will be honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be directed to Independence Baptist Church Building Fund.
