Glenn Roy Loewe was born April 11, 1947 in Burton, Texas, the son of J.R. and Bernice Jaeger Loewe. He was baptized Aug. 17, 1947 and confirmed May 21, 1961 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine. After being educated at Burton High School, he served his country in the U.S. Army from July 6, 1966 to July 5, 1968. Glenn made his living as an electrician and worked for Koch Oil for 14 years. Glenn loved to fish, barbeque, and spend time with his family. He was loved for his unique culinary creations and his sense of humor. His smile could light up a room. Being the daddy he was, there was always a holiday treat whether it be a box of chocolate on Valentine s Day, an Easter nest of fresh flowers, or a scare in the yard on Halloween night. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, daddy and Pa Pa , and we will miss him very much. He is survived by his former wife Bonita Griggs Loewe and their children, Glenda Rhodes and husband J.D. and their children Logan and Alivia of Carmine, Gina Fischer and husband David and their children Amanda and Emily, Gentry Drews and husband Mike and children Daylon and Reyce, and Gregg Loewe and Kristina Creek, his wife Mary Loewe and her children, Charlie Mayer, Christi and Darrell Boortz and children Tommy and Camary, and Amber and husband Steven Kelley all of Giddings, his mother, Bernice Jaeger Loewe of Carmine, brothers, Jimmy and wife Marie of Carmine, and Wilbert Loewe of Brenham, 8 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He passed from this life on Saturday, June 4, 2005 in the home he built, surrounded by his wife and children, to join his father, J.R. Loewe. One of these days . The family will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2005 in Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine with Pastor Paul Bohot officiating. Burial will follow in Loewe Family Cemetery. Pallbearers include Burt Hayslip, Raymond Loewe, John Siegmund, Raymond Kipp, Billy Joe Roemer, Herman Schoenemann Jr., Calvin Vahrenkamp and Keith Schoenemann. Honorary pallbearers include Doyle Hayslip, Gene Ebner, Hubert Stievert, Bert Dodd, Robert Hinze, Charles Siegmund, Butch Marth and Robin Hayslip. At the family s request, memorials may be given to Hospice of Brazos Valley. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Foehner Funeral Home, 13560 W. Washington, Burton.
