Grace Daniel

Grace Irene Daniel, 78, of Brenham, died August 1, 2006, at Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center in Brenham. Ms. Daniel was born February 2, 1928, in Elkhart, Texas, to Theodore and Elsie Quade Hilliegiest. Ms. Daniel was a member of St. Peter s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill. She was a longtime resident of Brenham and came to know many people during her waitressing years at Petticoat Junction, La Cocina and Fluff Top Roll Restaurant. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur and Janet Daniel of Brenham and Ralph and Kat Daniel of Flushing, Michigan; one daughter, Arlene Adams of Brenham; sister and brother-in-law, Merle and Harold Dahman of Brenham; nine grandchildren, Amanda and Jason Avey, Melissa Gore, Christina Daniel, Matt and Jennifer Daniel, Misty and Jerry Courtney, Jessica Daniel, Micah Daniel, Patrick Koronka and Brooke Logan and Kate and Kevin Quinn; and five great-grandchildren, Kavin and Kaden Koronka-Quinn, Brittny Courtney and Cameron and Colton Logan. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Susan Annette Daniel; great-grandson, Lance Koronka-Quinn and her faithful companion, Chewy. The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5 at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham with Pastor Virgil Pecht officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Amanda Avey, Melissa Gore, Matt Daniel, Patrick Koronka, Jason Avey and Kevin Quinn. Memorials may be given to Parkinsons Disease Foundation, St. Peter s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill or the Brenham Animal Shelter.
