Gregory Alan "Turkey" Krueger, 59, husand of Catherine Hertenberger Krueger, died January 14, 2013 in Brenham. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, January17, 2013 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Father Ed Kucera officiating. The service will continue with a Celebration Of Life at 5 p.m. at Little Mike''s on South Market St. in Brenham. A reception will be held at the Parish Activity Center of St. Mary''s Catholic Church following the funeral service. Inurnment will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Turkey Krueger was born September 12, 1953 in Brenham to Oscar and Ruth Snow Krueger. He was a graduate of Brenham High School, and was employed as a carpenter. Turkey was well-known for entertaining friends and family with his music. On December 20, 1995, he was married to Catherine Hertenberger in Brenham. Survivors include his wife, Catherine Krueger; mother, Ruth Krueger, both of Brenham; daughter Catie Ruth Krueger of Brenham, and step-daughter Alyssa McKay and husband Chad of Bryan; brothers Randy Krueger and wife Viki of Plantersville, Kenny Krueger of Brenham, Jerry and Connie Krueger, Mike and Sandy Krueger, Tim Krueger and Bobbie Moore, all of Brenham, and Charlie and Robin Krueger of Haslet; sister, Tammy Runge of Brenham, and special friend, Dora Walkoviak. He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Krueger. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Catie Ruth Krueger Educational Fund, c/o Citizens State Bank, P. O. Box 908, Navasota, Tx. 77868, or to the Turkey Krueger Benefit Fund, c/o Brenham Elks Lodge, to help defray medical expenses.
