Gwenda Jacobs

It has pleased almighty God, in accordance with His merciful and divine providence, on the afternoon of Monday, June 17, 2019 to summon to Himself out of this vale of tears the soul of Gwenda Marie Lee Jacobs.

Gwen was born December 1, 1932 in East Rochester, New York to Herman Dillman and Doris Mowry Lee. She was baptized in June 1940 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Mendon, New York. Gwen was confirmed in the Christian Faith in June 1945 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Mendon, New York. On June 9, 1956 she was united in Holy Matrimony with Richard Jacobs at St. John Lutheran Church in Hamlin, New York.

A faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church, Gwen served her Lord as a member of the Afternoon LWML. She was faithful in her hearing of God’s Word and reception of the Sacrament. By means of God’s grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we know that Gwen now enjoys the peace and joy of eternal life in heaven.

Gwen was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Richard Lee; her father-in-law and mother-in-law Wilbur and Alta Jacobs; daughter-in-law, Melissa Jacobs, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Shirley and Ron Pinnt.

Surviving and mourning her loss are her husband, Richard Jacobs; her children Pastor Matthew Jacobs and wife Patricia, Andrew Jacobs and wife Susie, Brian Jacobs and wife Ruth, Corey Jacobs and wife Alice, and Sarah Jacobs; her grandchildren Tricia Sacre and husband Brett, Jan Gonzales and husband Ross, Aaron Jacobs and wife Kelley, Benjamin Jacobs, Eileen Patton and husband Bryan, Emily Henneke and husband Bob, Bethany Jacobs, Bailey Jacobs, Breanna Jacobs, Mikayla Jacobs, Jesse Jacobs, and Michael Shang; great-grandchildren Melissa Salsbury and husband Micah, Erica Sacre, Austin Sacre, Blake Sacre, Rebecca Gonzales, Jillian Gonzales, Matthew Gonzales, Mackenzie Patton, Laura Kay Henneke, and Layla Kathryn Henneke; great-great granddaughter Elise Coghlan; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Judy and Russ Bausher and Ginny and Jim Skutt; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 1212 W. Jefferson St., Brenham, Texas 77833 on June 29, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church or Hospice Brazos Valley.
