Hanni Hudelson

Hanni Ida Hudelson, 77, of Carmine, died Sept. 4, 2011, at her residence. The funeral service will be held Thursday, Sept. 8 at 10:00 a.m. at Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine with Karen Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Carmine City Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Wednesday, Sept. 7 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton. Mrs. Hudelson was born Jan. 20, 1934 in Essen, Germany to Johannes and Else Muthmann Kruse. She was baptized and confirmed in Germany. She met her husband in Germany and came to the United States a year later. On July 2, 1960, she married John Hudelson in Kansas City, Missouri. Mrs. Hudelson learned English by watching game shows. Mrs. Hudelson was a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine. She loved traveling around the world and telling others about her travels. Known as Oma to everyone, she was involved in her granddaughter Josephine''s activities. She also enjoyed German music, working in the yard, driving around Carmine and visiting and playing dominoes at the Senior Center. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Hans Robert and Brandi Hudelson of Cary, North Carolina; daughter, Anita Drydale of Carmine; grandchildren, Josephine S. Drydale and Anthony K. Hudelson; and sisters, Elke Jowell of Fruita, Colorado and Lori of Kiel, Germany. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hudelson; and son, Frank Hudelson. Pallbearers will be John Handy, Mike Peters, Wade Eilers, Ed Eargle, Floyd "Bubba" Etzel and Dennis Gerland. Memorials may be made to Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine.
