Hans Emil Fredricksen, 71, of Brookshire, TX, died Aug. 4, 2003, in Katy Hermann Hospital. Mr. Fredricksen was born Aug. 30, 1931, in San Juan, TX, to Fred and Bertha Caddell Fredricksen. He was baptized and confirmed in First American Lutheran Church in Edinburg by Rev. Clarence Oestreich. He was educated in Edinburg High School and Edinburg Junior College. Mr. Fredricksen served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a truck driver. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Tamara Fredricksen of Bakersfield, California, Mark and Sara Fredricksen of Hemet, California and Greg and Debbie Fredricksen of Paris, California; daughters, Sheryl Fredricksen of Upland, California and Laurie Patrick of Claremont, California; sister and brother-in-law, Elsie and Ed Longhofer Sr. of Brenham; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jim Henry Fredricksen. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7 in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham with Rev. Larry Embry officiating. The family will receive visitors at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
