Harold Lanford, 86, of Brenham, died March 12, 2020 in Brenham, TX, surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 12:15 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Joven Saavedra officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm. – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. during the visitation.
Mr. Lanford was born in Brenham, TX on April 9, 1933 to Kinch and Sophia Meeks Lanford. He worked at Brenham Wholesale as a truck driver. He was married to the love of his life Martha Kwiatkowski for fifty-two and half years.
Mr. Lanford served in the army in the Korean War. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a member of American Legion. He loved to piddle around, and loved working in the yard. He loved detailing cars, was the world’s greatest Bar-B-Quer, and loved his cold “Natty” Light.
Survivors include his daughters, Carol Lanford, Becky Cherry (Jon), and Janet Kitowski (Albert); brother, Charles Lanford; and sister, Delores Dyson. Grandchildren, J.P. (Meghan) Cherry, Steven Cherry, Albert Kitowski IV & fiancé Amber Novosad, Jessica (Eddie) Bedinghaus, (with one Great Grandchild on the way). Great Grandchildren, Damian, Michael, Lily, Evangeline (Evie) and Matthew Cherry. And special friend Tammy Crawford Lechner who was like a daughter to him.
Pallbearers will be David Beckendorf, Kris Sommers, Marcus Mejias, Lester Ward, Harry Grimm and Tommy Kaliszewski.
Honorary Pallbearers will be employees and former employees of Brenham Wholesale.
Mr. Lanford was preceded in death by his parents, Kinch and Sophia Lanford; wife, Martha Kwiatkowski Lanford, and step son Edmond “Sonny” Bilski.
Special thanks must be given to Dr. William Loesch and Aubrey Eickenhorst.
Memorials may be given to Hospice Brazos Valley, who were so very kind and compassionate.
