Harold “Little Joe” Schwarze, 67, passed away February 13, 2017 in Brenham.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, February 17, 2017 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill, with Pastor Kris Brower officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Harold Schwarze was born January 1, 1950 in Brenham to Adolph and Regina Dorsz Schwarze. He was married to Wauldeen Stirek on February 27, 1971 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Wauldeen Schwarze; daughters and sons-in-law Kristie and Billy Swartz, and Amy and Chris Tiemann, all of Brenham; brother and sister-in-law, Ernie and Nancy Schwarze of Brenham; sister, Pat Harris of Cypress; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George and Nancy Stirek, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Ozell Stirek.
“Little Joe” attended St. Mary’s Catholic School through the 8th grade, and completed his education in Brenham schools. He was employed as a transport driver for Blue Bell for 27 years, and then worked for Ahrens Brother Trucking for 11 years.
Devoted to his family, “Little Joe” supported his daughters with their 4-H lamb, goat and halter heifer projects. He also enjoyed camping with his family. Gardening and taking care of his lawn were favorite hobbies, as well as watching old westerns on television. He was a faithful member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill until his death.
Serving as pallbearers are David Eilers, Duane Ahrens, Chris Tiemann, Billy Swartz, Ernie Weatherby, and Landon Schwarze.
