Harris Johnston

Harris Gregg Johnston, 88, of Burton, husband of Catherine Wood Johnston, passed away March 2, 2008 in Burton. Mr. Johnston was born April 20, 1919 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II. Mr Johnston was a Master Portrait and Wedding photographer in Houston. He was an avid golfer, rancher, and a member of the Burton Heritage Society. Mr. Johnston was a long time active member of Bethany Christian Church, where he served as an elder. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Catherine Wood Johnston of Burton; son Robert Johnston of Burton; stepson William Comiskey and wife Cathy of Burton; step-daughter Betty Fortner and husband James of Brenham; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and a sister Ruth Kyle of Chattanooga, TN. as well as numerous other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, one brother , one sister,. The funeral service for Harris Gregg Johnston will be held Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Christian Church with Pastor Bob Hoffmann officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Burton. Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton. Memorials may be given to the charity of your choice.
